RTR......... Road to Recovery!

After surviving cancer almost exactly 15 years ago my mom gets the unfortunate opportunity to once again to relive her past. My mom is a very strong person and I know will be fine when it's all done. She is determined and passionate about getting past this once again. My mom has been through a lot and I know will once again rise above this and only become a stronger person for it! I've learned many things from my mom which I know has helped me become the strong and independent person I am today.
We start this road to recovery now!!!! I say WE cause you are not alone in this! We are a family and small we might be but not inferior! That is what family is for, to help one another when we need it most. We are here for you and would do anything for you! We are looking forward to your road to recovery!

Making cookies

What do you do when you come home from school and it's raining, homework is done and sports are cancelled?...........Why you make cookies!
So the kids got cracking and I just observed to make sure things ran smooth. Dylan was in charge of the dry ingredients. He had so much flour on him and the floor just from measuring 2 1/4 cups, it looked as though he had been baking since 5 in the morning! Mo liked the mixing and measuring out the wet ingredients. It appears the dog wanted to do some quality control as well! End product DELICIOUS!

Sports Update February 13, 2010

A divided family once again :(

Rob stayed with Dylan for baseball and basketball here in town and I took Mo to Merced for soccer! The Mavericks fell short again to the Pacers 14-12. Rob said Dylan is really starting to use his body more and Grandpa said he probably got 90% of the rebounds!
The Arsenal remain undefeated winning both games this weekend to Linden and Motherlode in Merced.
The first game against Linden we won 7-0. Our second game was Merced and the competition was a little more tough. We had no score at the half. The about 10 minutes in to the game each team scored and we remained tied with about 5 minutes left. Morgan finishes the job with a goal. Final score 2-1 UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!! So proud of both my kids!

This week and the following week are probably going to be the most challenging for us. Every night there is at least 2 sporting events someone has to be at. Balancing act we have become, but I do enjoy watching my kids play! Looking forward to tournament weekend for basketball and soccer on the 27 and 28th of this month! We should have a full house as Grandpa, Grandma and Uncle Randy will be here too!

Cousin Bob June 22, 1937- February 7, 2010

Sadly my cousin Bob passed away earlier this week. He was one of the smartest people I've ever known. I'm proud to say he lead the way for many as a scientist, professor and a telecommunication engineer.

I always loved as a kid going to their house in Redwood City. I looked forward to seeing them as well as always getting a new Nancy Drew book every time we went to visit.

He had the most amazing marriage of 38 years to my cousin Sylvia. They have spent most of their later life traveling so Sylvia could continue her passion for genealogy and family history. Without them, I would have never known so much of our family history! For that I can never thank you enough.

Bob is pictured here at our wedding in Livermore August 1994 with Sylvia and their son Etienne.

Bob- you will be truly missed! All our love- Debbie, Robert, Morgan and Dylan

Sports Update February 6, 2010

Arsenal Wins again!
Games were relocated to Manteca because of the heavy rains, fortunate for us we didn't have to travel much this weekend. Our first game was against Merced who forfeited. Tracy ended up playing us for an early makeup game and we won 5-1. Morgan scored a goal in the first game. The second game was against Modesto and The Arsenal pulled it off once again with a win 3-1.

Mavericks just shy of a win. Final score 14-11. I missed this game but grandma and grandpa gave me the play by play on how they were doing. The team played well and ended up losing when John on the other team got fouled right at the buzzer, the basket went in which pulled them ahead 13-11,then he made one of his free throws making the final score 14-11. Dylan did well scoring 5 for the game. Better luck next weekend Mavericks!

After the games Rob and Jose drafted for their baseball team "The Braves". When Rob comes home with a smile on his face I know it's gonna be an interesting year! Can't wait to see some ball being played! As Minors we have 5 games on the Major field this year, I'm so excited for another baseball season.

Happy Superbowl everyone, may the best team win. Rob and Dylan are at the senior center right now cooking up omelets for the Superbowl Breakfast. Afterwards were off to the Morrish's for some fun times and hopefully to see some good TV adds, I mean a good game!
