Valentine's Day Photo Shoot
Who would ever guess how difficult it would be to get a couple of pictures of the kids?? Between the uncontrolled laughter and the dog trying to hog the picture I think it went pretty well considering. Thank goodness Valentine's comes around once a year.

Sports Update January 30, 2010
Finally the sun stayed out long enough for the fields to dry up so we could resume our season! Game on!! This weekend team Arsenal played in Lodi. Our first game we played Modesto and won with a shut out 6-0. Our second game we played Merced and won 5-1! Winning is great but when you score a GOAL OR TWO, it makes it a whole lot better! Yes, Morgan not only scored her first All Star goal but must have liked the way that felt so went ahead and scored another one minutes later! We are so proud of you Morgan. I'm so glad we were there to see the look on your face because that is something I will never forget!
Unfortunately The Mavericks basketball suffered their first lost to The Bucks today. I think the kids played well defensively and gave it a good try. Don't worry Mavericks we are still looking REAL GOOD! Get em' next week!!
As if our day weren't busy enough, the first weekend of baseball tryouts was today too! Rob and Dylan spent several hours at Lincoln field evaluating players for Little League. Dylan moves up to Minors this year so we are pretty excited for a new field to play on! Dylan had a good tryout, I'm thinking he's gonna get picked up by a really good coach!

The Paper Bag Women of Woodward
So anyone who says there's nothing to do on a Friday night in Manteca is completely off their rocker! Give a woman a paper bag and just look what she can create! My goofball and completely awesome friends Stacey and Daniele came over last night with bags on their heads asking if "I could come out and play?". So as Rob was shoving me out the door, we decided to take it up a notch and dress em up a bit before heading over to Cathi's. Needless to say we looked like complete wack jobs but had another fun filled night just hanging out. We stopped by Michelle's house to see if she wanted to play as well. No answer, so we just decided to rearrange her patio furniture for her. We are very caring like that! Thanks ladies for another spur of the moment night with memories that will last a lifetime!
Sports update January 23
Well because of all the heavy rains Morgan's soccer games were cancelled! A much needed weekend off but on the other hand very disappointing. We love to watch Mo play soccer with her winter team! Looking forward to next weekend to play in Lodi.
Dylan's team is now 3-0. What a nail biting game this was. Dylan scored 5 himself. Final score was a narrow 13-11. Way to pull it off again Mavericks!! The Raptors was a tough team but you guys held on till the end and showed them you could play just as tough!
Next 2 weekends will not only include the usual 2 soccer games and a basketball game but baseball tryouts too!. Minor League draft night is February 6th which is around the corner. Our new team name you ask?........The Braves! Absolutley LOVE baseball season!!!

A Visit to the Rain Forest!
January 21, 2010
Mrs. Crippen's 3 rd grade class presented a wonderful readers' Theater based on the book, The Great Kapok Tree.
Dylan was playing the part of the Jaguar and was very convincing too. Some of the kids wore masks, sang songs as well as read poetry from the story line. All the kids did a really nice job at the presentation!
Dylan did his first report on the Leopard. He learned many things about the Leopard like where they live, what they eat and how they survive.

Got Crabs???
January 16, 2010
The 25 th Annual Boys and Girl Club Crab feed was this weekend at the MRPS Hall in Manteca. Leave it to us to turn a crab feed into "Prom Night". Stacey, Cathi, Daniele and I had a blast with DJ "Otter Bob" dancing all night long. Plenty of familiar faces on the dance floor made for a fun filled night.
I bid and won 2 tickets to see the UCLA Bruins play Stanford on September 11 th this year. Woo hoo! Happy Anniversary Rob! ( He can never leave me alone at a live auction again)!
Sports update January 16
Oh what a weekend! Mom and dad came to watch the kids play their games this weekend and spread good luck all over! The Mavericks won their basketball game against the Sixers 21-6. Dylan scored 9 himself. We celebrated Coach Gary's 50th birthday after with donuts, the kids just LOVE you Gary!! Sorry I was only there to catch 1/2 the game cause we were road tripping to Turlock for soccer.
Mo and I met the team at the In and Out parking lot in Manteca to drive down to Turlock. Rob, Dylan , mom and dad were able to come down in time to catch both games too. The Manteca Arsenal had a phenomenal opener. They won their first game against Turlock 5-0 then repeated their efforts with a 2-0 win against Tuolumne. Mo played very aggressively and is showing she is there for a reason. I feel a goal coming on soon, very soon!
Sorry, I think I was so excited I didn't take any pictures this weekend! We are looking very forward to being in Manteca this weekend rain or shine!

Mavericks first game of the season is a win!
January 9, 2010
Mavericks win The Hawks 15-6 at Golden West Gym. The opening game was slow at first with no score after the first period. Dylan scored 2 baskets today! Coach Rob and Gary are doing an awesome job with the kids. The kids look forward to Coach Gary getting in the mix. Can't wait for the rest of the games, should be an exciting season!

New Year's 2010
December 31, 2009
Nothing like bringing in the New Year with friends! We had The Klumps, The Sansoni's and The Morrishes over for New Year's Eve this year. Rob made a delicious spaghetti sauce....... compliments to Rueven's recipe, so so yummy! After dinner we played Wits and Wagers where I realized a full size "regulation" tennis court is 120 ft - thanks Bill!
I seemed to have better luck with Poker after Wits and Wagers winning both, yes both games!
The kids were busily eating and playing games upstairs waiting for the countdown to the New Year. We toasted at midnight with the bubbly and some noise makers!
Happy New Year's, may we all have a healthy and prosperous 2010!
